I bought this lamp to illuminate a vintage glass bowl on a table that mimics the curve of the lamp, which will ultimately function as a nightlight/mood light. It looks as good as I'd imagined it would. The light temp (K) is on the warm/incandescent side (which was what I was hoping for), and the touch control dimmer gives a generous range from low to high. The stainless steel body is finished nicely, with smooth lines and curves with undetectable welds at edges and corners. But, there are a couple things the manufacturer could do to improve presentation. The adhesive that secures the soft spongy footpad to the underside was smeared up around the exterior stainless steel on all 4 sides and required a couple alcohol pads to clean up. The plastic lens that diffuses the LED was not seated properly and had plastic shavings wedged between it and the stainless body. This lamp was for myself, and both of these were easily resolved by me, but had I given this as a gift and it was opened by the receiver to reveal similar sloppiness in manufacturing, I'd be embarrassed.Like I read in at least one of the reviews, the blue halo light had to go. The adhesive I cleaned off the sides earlier gave me a clue as to how secure that footpad was, and it turned out to be an easy, clean peel to gain access to the inside. From inside I could see that the illuminated button was only held on by one center screw. Removing the screw and pulling the IC board I found 3 LEDs that were focused on the clear plastic 'halo' of the button. A little blutack on each LED smothered out that light while remaining completely non-destructive and reversible. Adhesive intact, the footpad stuck right back in place where it was prior to the operation. Intense blue halo when 'Off' had been taken care of. I'm not recommending you do this process, as it will likely void your warranty - it's just being presented as a 'this is how I solved it'. Mine was a warehouse buy that was deeply discounted from retail price for a missing power cord, so I didn't mind experimenting a little.Overall though, it's a cool lamp, and certainly a more eyecatching design than other desk lamps. I see some mentions in the reviews about longevity, so we'll see. For now, 4 stars, will update if needed. The lamp is beautiful but this is the 2nd one I’ve purchased and I’ve run into issues with both units. Each issue occurred after about 2 months from the date of purchase with an average of about 2 hours of nightly use. The first lamp’s on/off switch became non-responsive so it stays constantly on. To resolve this I have plugged it to a wall outlet that is controlled by a light switch. But this means having to get out of bed before going to sleep to turn of the lamp as I’m using them on my nightstands. I bought the second lamp to replace the defective one. But again after about 2 months of normal use and after Amazon’s return window passed the unit won’t turn on. I’ve contacted both Amazon and the manufacturer and have had no luck. Amazon tried to troubleshoot eventually giving me the manufacturer’s customer service number. When I called the manufacturer the auto message said I was caller 1 in line. However, my call was never answered even after 45 min on hold just listening to prerecord messages. I’m writing this review in hopes that the manufacturer reads this and honors the one year warranty on both of the lamps.Contrary to previous answer to question, mine has a dimmer switch. You must press down lightly on the switch and the brightness level will change. Additionally it has a memory function to return the brightness to what it was when the lamp was when previously turned off. I use this on a bedroom dresser and would like the option to turn off the blue light encircling the dimmer switch but that is a small issue. Good sturdy lamp and aesthetically pleasing. I recommendLove them, I bought 2, sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. I knew the dims when I bought them, I just wish they came in a bigger size.Love these lights. Bought one for my office and loved so much I bought two for my craft room.Love the style and design. A winner
