I'm going with 3 stars on this. I have several small issues that take away from my liking it.- It doesn't "dim" as the listing says, it just has 3 light settings. "Dim" means an unlimited gradation between on and off. 3 settings is fine, just wanted to clarify.- It's a rather stark white light that's a bit harsh to me.- The power/change pad doesn't seem to register touches about 40% of the time. It wants a precise, held touch to work.- In person, it's very obviously fake wood grain. I'm not a fan of that. Plus it's a shiny plastic, which I'm also not a fan of.- It is not a true goose neck. While it'll allow itself to be positioned in many odd ways, and that's good, many positions won't hold. You have to bend it past where you want it and hope that its uh "spring back" will end up in the right position. That bugs me, too. Having just recently tested another lamp with a true goose neck, I find myself rather picky about that.- It's only rated for 25k hours, then it's toast. The other one I just tested was rated for 50k hours.- The USB port is smack in the back. It's nice that it has one, but I definitely would have preferred it in the front, or at least on the side.- The warranty is good only in the "same geographical location as when it was purchased". Which means you can't move and expect coverage. I find that odd and lame. Some good points:- The flexible part is covered in a silicon-feel material that feels good, up until the actual light head, then becomes a light metal.- It generates almost no heat at all - good for kids/pets/dust.- Power cord is white. I've always had a minor peeve that all cords seem to be black. I like white or other colors, just because.- It's quite heavy. A good weighted base is more stable and I like that.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - It's an Amazon program where many things you buy every day will generate a small donation to the charity of your choice.
