This lamp works very well and illuminates a computer-side work area quite nicely. I leave it on its highest illumination setting most of the time, which is pretty bright. It took a few tries to get the working of the on-off button down properly, but that was about the only slight difficulty. The goose neck is sturdy and keeps the lamp in place as set. I use it plugged into a powered USB hub, which works just fine, and don't bother with an AC-to-5v-DC adapter. My only real complaint, also expressed in other reviews, is the location of the control buttons on the lamp cord, which should be closer to the lamp. I solved this---which shouldn't have been necessary---by hanging the buttons from one of the hooks near my computer that are used for organizing an array of flash drives of different capacities on those fake carabiner clips.I can say for sure how long it took for it to become lose a bit of it's strucural integrity, by it started struggling to defy gravity. Thats my only gripe against it. Other than that it has been very hand giving me some extra lighting during my video sessions and illuminating my gloomy desk.Works great, light is nice and bright. The only downside is it will not attach to my headboard. The clamp doesn't open very wide. But I am happy with it.Good little lamp, I use it both as a desk lamp and as a bedside lamp (my bed is next to my bed), and it's nice how I can use a brighter setting for desk work, and changing to a dimmer light with orange hue for readingI do nails and when my aunt saw my light she wanted the same exact one so I bought one for her and her sister and they both love them they do craftsI clip this on my dresser next to my bed and it’s perfect for reading you can adjust itUPDATED review 4-10/2022 Raised to 4 starsTLDR . Found root cause was a USB hub. Noise went away..In my first review I whined about some RFI the lamp delivered on various HF bands when it was switched on. Well, long story short the root cause of that was not so much the lamp but the HooToo 6 waydistribution USB hub I had the lamp plugged into. The Hootoo wasn't causing noise unless the lamp was on. I found a old 4 way Belkin hub I had laying around and the RFI went away when lamp was plugged in and turned on. So I'm keeping the lamp and tossed the old HooToo in closet to be forgotton about. It was the older long rectangle block version HOotoo seemingly no longer makes. I didn't raise to full 5 star because IMO the USB cord is 2 to 3 feet too short.Older review follows.Overall this lamp would have been perfect for my need. The light is bright enough and is dimmableand the color range can be changed easily with the inline controlller. Worked fine when plugged into my PC's USB powered hub. (old Hootoo hub). Lamp is easily bendable and stayed in place. The controlleris about 20 inches down the cable from the lamps clamp. I can see in some uses one would needa USB extension cable as the provided cable is a tad short, IMO. The killer for my purposes is it generates RFI in 75-80 (3.6 +- range) that I found unacceptable and could not be clamped with toroids on the USB cable. It was not generating RFI hash in all HF bands but I did find more in 21MHZ range (15 meters). The lamp does NOT generate hash when the lamp switch commands the lamp off. The lamp switchremains lit at the power toggle button. I found no RFI has in AM broadcast band so if anyone reads this and doesn't care about the aboveyou should be fine. It just isn't fine for a Ham shack situation. It stays clamped even when adjusting. That's not the case with a lot of competitors. It gives the right amount of light to my workspace without being overwhelming.Failed after a few months of use. Doesnt switch on anymore. Waste of moneyGood lamp, very versatile and easy to use. Ideal for crafting / where you need to be able to work close-up with a bright, adjustable lightI have bought 3 of these, 1 was fine, the 2nd one only the on botton works so couldn’t change settings and the 3rd broke after 2 months. Don’t wast your money like I have!Lamp stopped working after less than 2 months. Only used for about an hour a night, so in essence only worked for 60 hours....was great while it lasted if only it lasted longer than a lightbulb.Okay, some of it was my own fault for not being able to imagine the length of the "stalk", I just assumed it would be longer. And yes, it does tell you that it has a USB connection for the power source, but no, I didn't read that bit. So, although the written description says this lamp is perfect for piano, crafting, sewing etc., it does not explain that you'd need to be doing these activities close to a computer or you'd need to buy a USB adapter so you can plug it into the mains. The light is of reasonable brightness, but has a very small area of spread. So when I'm using it for the computer in my poorly lit woman cave, the light cannot shine on both the keyboard and the paper next to the keyboard that I'm copying from. The other problem is that the switch is several inches down the cable so is not conveniently to hand and the four different parts on the switch, (which operate the strength of beam and colour of light and on and off), are tiny and completely flat so can't be operated by touch alone. So this old lady has to find her spectacles just to turn the lamp on. Apart from all that, it did come in a nice wee box and arrived very quickly.
